Ever feel like you could do with a little grounding? Some time out to reconnect with yourself and mother nature - or perhaps just an excuse to escape and be still for a moment? Read on, this one's for you.
A few weeks ago I found yoga! And, if I'm being honest, I was a little skeptical at first. Having never practiced before I didn't really know what to expect. Fast forward to today and let's just say I have been blown away by the classes with our freshest ambassador, Alex from Yoga Sita in Bibra Lake, Perth.
Alex's classes are a far cry from the 'hippy turning into a pretzel' type vision I initially had. I absolutely love the approach she takes when planning her classes. Every class has a theme that relates to real life. It's never too airy fairy and you get a great stretch and a chill out session at the end too. It's pure heaven. I also love the part of class where Alex says, "Take what you need from this. Or maybe take nothing? Simply. Just let it go with the flow." How good is that?!
If you've been wanting to try yoga for a while, but aren't really sure what it's all about or if you're a converted yogi who knows exactly what I'm on about here, this Earth Day we have something special in store for you!
It's our Earth Day FLOW with Yoga Sita
In collaboration with Yoga Sita we couldn't think of a better way to get 'grounded' this Earth Day (Monday 22 April) by getting all barefoot and back with nature. After all, yoga and caring for the Earth go hand in hand. And we care about this stuff!
So, we are hosting an outdoor 'Vinyasa' style yoga instructed by Yoga Sita founder, Alex. Let's face it, we're all going to need some grounding after all the hot cross buns.
Earth Day Flow wouldn't be complete without the earthy tribal sounds of a didgeridoo. And it just so happens that yoga Sita instructor Chad Sheppard is a master player. So he's been kind enough to donate his time to guide us through our flow.
What: A vinyasa style yoga class, followed by a bite and a chat afterwards.
When: Monday 22 April, 9am to 10am
Where: Bibra Lake Reserve, Gwilliam Road Bibra Lake, Perth. We'll be on a patch of juicy green grass amongst some beautiful big trees, overlooking the lake. You can't miss it!
What do I bring? A mat (if you like using one), a picnic rug, and your favourite after flow eats.
Who's invited? Everyone! Bring your friends with the intention to picnic and connect afterwards. Both Alex and I are super excited to wind down the long weekend with you all.
What's the cost? If you didn't already know, $1 from every WODUP purchase goes to the Tangaroa Blue Foundation. This amazing not-for-profit organisation makes their impact by cleaning up our beaches and oceans. We are so passionate about the amazing work these guys do to help preserve our precious environment. So all we ask is that you bring a gold coin donation to join in on the day. All money raised will go straight to Tangaroa Blue for further research and community clean ups.
What else? There will be a WODUP pop up store on site too. Another chance for you all to cop a feel of our ethical and sustainable yoga gear.
AND if you need even more yoga in your life (who doesn't?)
We've teamed up with Yoga Sita to offer you a very special two week free trial. Yaaaaaas!
All you have to do is head to Yoga Sita and register using the code WODUP (this link will direct you to the booking site). This promotion ends on April 29th, so make sure you sign up before then. Psst. There might be a surprise from us to help you make your impact too. Who doesn't love surprises? Hint: remember code 'SITA' to score a discount on our eco activewear.
