Meet Sarah. She is the beautiful face behind Instagram account @FitPerthLife
We caught up for coffee and chatted all things life and fitness and sent her home with a few pieces of our fitness wear to review.
Did it live up to it's expectations? Here's the verdict. Read on to hear Sarah's thoughts after taking our performance gear for a test run.
" What started as an endeavour to create high performance gear turned into something so much more for Gab, owner of eco luxury activewear brand WODUP. "
While researching material, the need to source sustainable alternatives became apparent and thus the “do good while being good” journey began. Now, all WOD UP activewear is made from modal (a bio-based fibre made from reconstituted cellulose from beech trees) or R-PET recycled plastic water bottles – a truly amazing process!
$1 from every sale is also donated to the Tangaroa Blue Foundation to help clean up our oceans.
" This is a brand Perth can really be proud of. "
It has been my absolute pleasure to review a few of the items from the WOD UP range to see if they meet the statements of high performance luxury, so read on to find out:
Unisex – A tank you can get for your partner and then steal back and wear yourself! Perfect!
You really have to feel this material for yourself to believe it. Super soft, stretchy and comfortable, it’s hard to imagine it started its life in a Taiwanese forest. The modal material actually has more strength than cotton and is both shrink-resistant and moisture-wicking. Everything you could want in high performance activewear. Modal is also biodegradable so that years and year from now when you’ve finished with this tank, it won’t have to hang around for thousands of years more. If you like a bit of matchy-matchy cuteness with your significant other (or like to annoy them with said matchiness), I would recommend getting 2! Let the #whoworeitbetter competition begin.
This crop may be of a lesser impact rating than its IMPACT CROP sister, but make no mistake; you will have all of the support you need. If you’re after a sexy Baywatch style run look with this crop then think again – nothing moves.
The padding is also removable so you can make the choice yourself of how you want the crop to look and fit. The detail on the back of the crop is a highlight for me and you can tell a lot of thought has gone into the design.
I used to think an underwire sports bra was necessary for running to get the full support needed. I’ve even got the red mark from the wire stabbing me during a long run to prove it. But turns out I was wrong and I’m very happy to say I have been converted thanks to this high performance crop.
Who knew plastic water bottles could look so good? These leggings really make a statement with their bold colour and trendy mesh patterning (which also allows for extra ventilation and flexibility). The wide waistband is great for extra core support and YES, happy to confirm they are squat proof. These leggings are super stretchy and super soft to touch – to the point where you may even start going around the gym asking random people to feel your leggings. You’ve been warned.
There really has been no compromise made between performance and eco-friendliness when it comes to the WODUP range. Definitely get your hands on some of these items if you’re ready for an eco activewear wardrobe overhaul. Make sure to let your sustainability-minded friends know as well so they can jump on board and support a great small business doing amazing things for the environment.
WODUP gets a BIG thumbs up from @FitPerthLife.
Ps. Looks like baby 'Nacho' is digging those naked feels too...
